Football retailers use words such as sleeve, guard sleeve and holder for products that do different jobs. Before buying, answer one question: does the item include the protective element, or is it designed to hold a separate shin guard you already own?
Two systems with different jobs
A shin-guard holder is a fabric support for a separate insert. An integrated slip-on guard combines the textile sleeve and protective panel in one product. Mixing up the categories can leave you with a holder but no protective component.
